X Account and Tools!
I am happy to announce I was able to create an X account to be able to share educational tools! The website I chose is Brilliant.org. This website has a focus on math and science with lessons that can be done everyday either individually or as a class.
X (formerly Twitter) could be used as a tool when wanting to post real-time updates about student work or school announcements, as it a great place for families to see what the school is up to and the work students are completing. Another reason would be that it provides an opportunity to teach digital literacy skills, such as responsible online behaviour, evaluating sources, and engaging in productive online discourse.
I am not that familiar with X and not many schools I know use it, so personally I do not believe I would use X in my teaching career as much as I would apps like Instagram or Pinterest. X is a great tool in general and could be very handy, however, I do not see a real benefit on using this app over the other two mentioned before.
Hello Alisha! I'm very excited to see what other resources you share on twitter, I already followed your account. I look forward to looking at brilliant.org as I haven't found too many math/science resources myself. I agree that I haven't had too much educational exposure regarding X nor have I used it myself in day to day, so it is difficult to imagine myself intergrating X into my teaching practice, but the concept of sharing resources among various educators is exciting to me! Looking forward to your nect post,
ReplyDeleteGrace Allen.
I wonder if our practicum schools use X as an educational resource aid, if so we should review the differences between the accounts!
